ICE – Ice, Compression, & Elevation (to manage swelling)

Pain and swelling can cause a muscle to stop working properly.

By effectively using ice, compression & elevation, swelling and pain can be managed and thus have less knock on effects. Please note that swelling is a normal phenomenon associated with injury and is a normal part of the healing process. Only in cases where there is excess swelling is there cause for concern.

Ice can be used once or twice a day for 15-20 minutes

Compression can be used all day

Elevation can be used 4-6 times throughout the day
